Mauritius is a popular tourist destination known for its stunning beaches, lush vegetation, and vibrant culture. To get there, most travelers will land at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, which is the main international gateway to the island nation. The Mauritius airport is also the main hub of Air Mauritius, the national carrier. It has international flights to Europe, Asia and Africa. The airport is managed by ATOL (Airport Terminal Operations Limited). It can accommodate 4.5 million passengers a year and has parking for over 600 vehicles.

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is located in Plaisance, about 48 kilometers southeast of the capital city of Port Louis. The airport has a single terminal building, which is equipped with modern facilities and services to meet the needs of travelers.

The main hall is where passengers are welcomed, with 54 check-in desks, including 25 dedicated to Air Mauritius. Six kiosks are dedicated for online check-in of passengers without luggage, while a few counters greet important passengers leaving for other destinations.

Mauritius Airport Levels

Underground Level

This is for parking purposes only.

Ground Level

Arrivals and departures, baggage claim area and ticketing desks are found on the ground level of the airport. Here, customs, quarantine and duty free are also located. Transport options such as bus, taxi and car rental are also located found on the ground level. To reach the upper level, it is required to go through the security check.

First Level

This is the International Departures level where both the Check-in Hall A and Check-in Hall B are found. The joining section between the check-in area and the boarding area hosts the Passport Control, the Security Control and the Duty-free shops.

In the boarding area, you can find the gates G21 to G28.

Second Level

On the second level of the Mauritius airport the immigration hall with the border and health controls can be found. This level is also used for flight connections and for the public gallery.

The parking space at the Mauritius airport can accommodate more than 1,000 vehicles. The parking zone situated in front of the terminal is equipped with trolley shelters and has wide sidewalks for pedestrians to have a quick and easy access to the passenger terminal.
Licensed and approved Airport taxis, buses and coaches of tour operators as well as car rentals are allocated parking zones which can be found near the pick-up area next to the terminal.
Accessible parking spaces for the mobility impaired as well as dedicated disabled parking spaces are provided with close proximity to the passenger terminal.
